A lovely spot for breakfast or lunch a 5 minute drive from the centre of town. Located in a lovely old building, this recently opened (March 2025) restaurant is light and airy with a quality fit out. Importantly, the coffee and food are great. The scrambled eggs and bacon were top notch, as was the delicious granola.
Lovely food. Not a huge menu. Staff very good. Very loud for those who struggle with hearing.
I love the decor that is really elegant and modern. Music was blaring so it doesn’t actually feel like a cafe, more like a bar. Their smash burger was good, pork belly salad has nice crispy pork belly which is cooked well but noodle salad was pretty sweet. Also the tagliatelle was pretty sweet too which was rather strange. Like I dont mind sweet but it is lack of balance. Iced hibiscus tea was ok, slightly sour and not sweet. Iced sticky chai was a bit weak for me.
We are lucky, or privaleged, to be able to often go to a range of cafes in the Bendigo area. I pay for good food and thus i expect good service, so i am not going to applaud when i merely get what i pay for. But today we visited the Drawing Room Cafe for the first time. Whilst waiting for our food, i watched a very busy staff, and ALL of them were collectively the most professional and customer attentive team that i have experienced in many visits to many cafes. Secondly, the breakfast i ordered was very ample in size and delicious. I hardly ever give reviews but am delighted to be able yo give this one.
A beautiful new venue in Bendigo. Such a gorgeous, demure atmosphere and a bit more up market than others. We spoilt ourselves with their salted caramel pancakes, which were really delicious. Shall go back again and order some of the tantalizing savoury dishes next time. Coffee is bang on and it's refreshing to see the historic building tastefully decorated. 😍 More photos next time 😉 So, an update on the original review as I went back today for more and they didn't disappoint. The gnocchi was beautiful ❤️❤️
