A friend lives here, he recommended this place to me. Being from Texas, and reading reviews of this restaurant, I had to try it for myself and see how it compares back home. Rodrigo served us and was super sweet. So far, the homemade sweet tea reminds me of Texas, so we're off to a great start! Our appetizer came by, which we ordered the jumbo mushrooms with horseradish sauce. Very presentable with micro greens on the top, crispy and flavorful. Even the horseradish sauce added an extra layer of kick and flavor, and not too overpowering. I ordered the Kansas City Combo with Beef Brisket, Smoked Sausage, fries and potato salad. My friend ordered the BlackBerry Salmon with fries. The salmon was very flavorful, had a nice char on the bottom, and the sauce was smokey. The Kansas City Combo looked very presentable, slices of sausage and brisket arrayed like a charcuterie board. The sausage was smokey and had a lot of different flavors going on, however the brisket is a different story. The BBQ sauce adds flavor to the brisket, but without it, it can be tough to chew. This is my first time having sausage sliced this way, whereas I'm used to sausage LINKS. The potato salad was very good, along with the fries. Had a lot of flavor and didn't need ketchup Overall, this was a very good experience, and if it ever in the area again, and am missing my hometown, I will come back.

Partner and I ate here for the first time. Let's start with the positives! We enjoyed the brisket and sausage. We also bought burnt ends, ribs, and three sides. The beans were out of this world. Best beans in the area. Unfortunately, the ribs were meh. The flavor was good but it had a lot of.. gristle? Weird bits? The burnt ends were kind of chewy or were just pure fat. The asparagus only tasted like.. smoke? Didnt really have much other flavor. We also got broccoli which was just okay. All said, our experience was okay but not great or amazing. Pretty middle of the line. For almost $50 for two people, we would probably choose a better place.

One of the best barbecue spots around—and I say that as someone who has traveled all over the USA. Great barbecue is hard to find consistently, but this place absolutely delivers. Yes, the price can feel a little steep at first, but once the food hits the table, you understand why. This is quality barbecue with real depth of flavor, care, and consistency behind it. Nothing tastes rushed or generic. I live a few hours away, so unfortunately I’m not able to visit as often as I’d like, but whenever I’m in Kansas City and craving barbecue, this is easily my first stop. That alone says a lot. Some places are good because they’re popular. Others become memorable because they actually live up to the reputation. This place does both. Good barbecue fills you. Great barbecue stays on your mind long after you leave.

Very good food for maincourse with generous portions. Apps never made it to the table though. We were not charged for items missing. Family Old Fashion cocktail was spot on delicious. The place was busy but they seemed to have plenty of help on hand. It's hard to beat the Stack.

OMG!!! The best baked beans we've ever eaten. The ribs and brisket melts in your mouth. The Cornbread was so YUMMY!! The gal that was a buser/runner was fantastic, on top of whatever we needed. Didn't get her name, her initials were B.E. Our server was an older gentleman, sorry didn't get his name either. He was awesome. They were SO BUSY, but nothing suffered for it. Highly recommend Jack Stack BBQ!!!
