Very good donuts and friendly service. At $5 a donut I did expect a little more. Tried the apple fritter (Friday only), strawberry buttermilk and an old fashioned. Apple fritter was by far the best one for me. The other two were fine but seemed a little “crumbly” for me. Not the soft, light and “doughy” consistency that one expects from a doughnut. Definitely worth a try and would go back when in the neighborhood.

Lots of options for fresh donuts - all sorts of flavors whether you like chocolate, fruit, or the sweet and salty maple bacon. We tried four - strawberry glaze, white chocolate banana, maple bacon, and the strawberry chocolate malasada. All were very, very good. The strawberry glaze was fresh and tart, with actual chunks of fruit in the cake batter. The banana and white chocolate was made even better with chocolate in the cake, too. The maple bacon was light and a little salty Ina great way. My partner enjoyed his malasada as well. We also had a Vietnamese coffee, which is always tasty. We ordered online ahead of time so it was quick when we got there. We even got to sample one we hadn't ordered when we walked in. The patio is a nice place to eat. The staff there was super friendly and helpful, offering an alternative when their latte machine went down. Is there not a bathroom though? Maybe I just missed it? I definitely think anywhere that serves coffee should have one.

Extremely disappointed and frustrated with the experience at this location. I placed a pickup order at 2:39 PM for 2 Blueberry Cheesecake doughnuts and 1 Golden Hour, and the app said the order would be ready by 3:09 PM. I arrived at 3:19 PM expecting it to be waiting for pickup, only to be told it wasn’t even close to ready. The employee at the front casually told us it would be another 15 minutes because the blueberry cheesecake topping still wasn’t prepared. We decided to wait patiently, even though the order was already late. After standing around for another 20 minutes watching them finish garnishing the doughnuts, we were then told it would be ANOTHER 10–15 minutes because the Golden Hour doughnuts had “just come out” and still needed icing and toppings. By then it was already around 3:40 PM — over 30 minutes past the promised pickup time and more than an hour after placing the order — and we had no choice but to swap out the Golden Hour for something that was actually ready because we couldn’t keep waiting indefinitely. We ended up receiving a Huckleberry instead, which was $2 cheaper than what we originally ordered, and we weren’t even offered or asked if we wanted the price difference refunded. The most frustrating part was the complete lack of urgency, communication, or basic customer service. Not once did anyone apologize for the delay or show any sympathy for wasting our time. It honestly felt like they didn’t care at all. If they had simply been honest about the actual wait time from the start, the situation would have been far less frustrating. Instead, we were repeatedly told “just a few more minutes” while the order clearly hadn’t even been started properly. Overall, a very disappointing experience, and unfortunately we will not be returning to this location.

I love Sidecar!!! This was my first time at the Padadena location, which seemed a little cramped, but has a good flow. There is a big parking lot in back, which is the entrance. There is a counter if you want to sit and enjoy your donuts/drink there; there is also seating outside. They get busy, but are efficient. I'm not sure if Donut Day affected this. They are conveniently located at Arroyo and Filmore, and I would easily return to this location.

Emily helped me out today and she was so professional, kind and patient. I downloaded the app however was having a difficult time receiving my free reward but she was graceful enough to still provide me with my freebie for downloading the app. There was no line today, but difficult to find parking. Their donuts are delicious but I would definitely skip the matcha. Would come again!
