Visited Texas Medical Center while in Houston. The atmosphere was impressive and expansive, and the overall experience felt well-organized and professional. Our daughter is currently working here, which gave us a chance to spend some time in the area and see just how massive this medical district really is. The area is beautifully maintained and enormous, with world-class hospitals, research institutions, and medical schools all concentrated in one place. I jokingly call it "the Las Vegas of hospitals" -- the scale, energy, and constant activity are remarkable. Overall, an incredible medical hub and something quite impressive to see firsthand. Saluti.
Evidently I don't have patients rights. Finding out that after two open heart procedures. The second one was a replacement of my valves with metal and carbon, that I have a Ascending aneurysm that the surgeons knew and did nothing about. Both times. Not even tell me. I found out later "by accident " is what cardiology says, that I have this problem. When I asked about why they didn't fix it they told my wife and I that the surgeons were tired. So they're confirming I have a Ascending aneurysm and at the same time dodging the truth. Tried to talk withthe business department about it, and all I got was " please call so we can talk about it". No call. Surprise. So they set an appointment for September to discuss my health. So all I can take from this, is that their ( Ben Taub) just waiting for me to die. It's funny, kinda that my aunt gave her life being a charge nurse at Ben Taub,and now Ben Taub is going to take my life because they don't want to admit that they screwed up.
If you go to MD Anderson it will spoil you! You will then compare every other medical facility to them and there is no comparison! You get all tests and reports real time within hours not weeks! You have a Team of doctors and surgeons working on your case and they have access to historical records of what has worked in the past and what hasn't. There is no guessing or let's try this! You have access to your Care Team 24 hours a day and they respond to your questions within 24 hrs or sooner!
The largest medical complex in the world. Being treated here means access to an unprecedented concentration of specialists and technology. Individual hospitals (like Methodist, Texas Heart) within TMC are world-class. The inter-hospital shuttle system is essential. An overwhelming but unmatched ecosystem for health.
The staff at this medical center are super helpful. I had to take my son to see a dermatologist and from parking lot attendants to the receptionist everyone was helpful and went above and beyond to put me in the right direction.
