Bronwyn was an absolute star in helping us with our recent property search! From the very beginning she was approachable, knowledgeable and incredibly helpful. She was so thoughtful in her approach, taking the time to really understand what we were looking for and taking our wants and needs seriously. It was clear she was genuinely invested in finding the right property for us. Paid Rent and Deposit - Denied Access to Property I had a very disappointing and stressful experience with Chestertons and would strongly caution others to be careful. I used their service to rent a property and paid both rent and deposit in good faith, trusting their process and professionalism. However, after payment, the landlord changed the locks and I was not able to access the property at all. Despite this serious issue, Chestertons failed to properly manage the situation or protect me as a tenant. Instead of taking responsibility, I was told to deal directly with the landlord, even though I had no prior relationship or direct agreement with them. As a tenant, I relied on the agency to handle the process, but they effectively stepped back when the problem occurred. Because of this: * I lost money (rent, deposit, moving costs) * I suffered significant stress * I had to take legal action and go to court * My plans to move were completely disrupted This experience felt extremely unprofessional and poorly handled. Communication and support were lacking at the most critical moment. While I understand that estate agents sometimes act as intermediaries, I believe there is still a duty of care toward clients, especially after taking payments. In my case, that duty was not met. I hope the company improves its handling of tenant protection and accountability in such situations.

Be very fearful of this agency. When we moved in, their agent Laura confirmed that du to our daughter suffering from pneumonia and having a serious of respiratory issues, the landlord could deal with the mould in property before we moved in. After we moved in they did not deal with it, and they ignored all of our messages relating it. Upon moving out, at the end of the one year term, they assisted the landlord in ensuring there was enough of a grey area where they could claim that we did not give notice for the end of our tenancy properly. As a result, they took an extra months rent, amounting to £5000, and stayed silent through the process whilst we attempted to take this back. At the end of adjudication the landlord ended up taking it, as they’re clear knew what they were doing and ensuring that they could take this money from a young family, despite us having moved out of the property in time, liaising with them to hand over the keys, and the landlord actually staying in the property and making used to the property after we moved out. I have never dealt with such an agency in my life - they knew the landlord would do this and never found it appropriate that once we moved out, the landlord intended to keep our entire deposit sum.

I rate and recommend this company very highly for both prospective landlords and tenants. The ease and pace with which they handled my search and tenancy contract was excellent. Led by Gary Noone and in close contact with Martyn Thomas, all team members I encounterred apply the same values and ethos, essentially working to simplify and speed the process for all parties. Withn this, flexibility and pragmatism are key values that enabled the successful letting outcome.
